TERMITE TREATMENTS
For Residential & Commercial
Termite Treatments are a must. Termites are one of the most problematic insects in the world because they cause so much damage to homes and other buildings. They’re especially troublesome in warm climates, where they can thrive and reproduce rapidly. Termites feed on wood, which can quickly destroy a home’s or other building’s structural integrity. They can also be challenging to control once they’ve infested an area.
Do you have termites living in your home or business? Termites can be destructive pests, and it’s necessary to eradicate them quickly. Treating termites requires a two-fold approach: first, the affected area must be inspected for the extent of damage and type of infestation; second, treatment must begin immediately.
Termite Treatments are the definitive resource for property owners seeking to protect their investments. Termites can cause thousands of dollars worth of damage to residential and commercial properties and must be addressed quickly and effectively.
When it comes to termite treatments, an inspection is the most crucial step. With a professional inspection of your home or business, you could avoid costly damage due to termites. These pests are destructive and can cause significant structural damage if not taken care of promptly. An inspection can determine the degree of an infestation, and measures are taken to ensure that it is eradicated quickly and effectively.
Regular preventative inspections are the best way to protect your property from termites. This will help identify any early signs of infestation before they become too severe and cause significant damage. The inspector will look for evidence such as mud tubes, wood-eating insects, hollow wood sounds, sawdust piles, and more. Once your property is infested with termites, the damage can be costly to repair. This is why it’s necessary to contact an experienced pest control professional as soon as possible to treat and prevent further damage.
TERMIDOR AND TRELONA ATBS
Horn Pest Management is happy to offer multiple treatment options, but our “go-to” products are Termidor and Trelona ATBS, both manufactured by BASF, an industry leader in efficacy and support. Termite treatment options include baiting systems, liquid treatments, and spot treatments. We recommend bundling a Termidor liquid treatment with the Trelona baiting system for best results.
Trelona ATBS is a baiting program utilizing tamper-resistant bait stations strategically installed in the soil around your home or commercial building. This may also be a more environmentally friendly option. Termites don’t sleep and work 24 hours a day randomly foraging. It’s only a matter of time before a colony strikes a bait station and starts feeding. Eventually, the termites will return to the colony to feed other termites. When they do this, they leave a pheromone trail for other foraging termites. Trelona stops the termite’s molting process and leads to colony elimination.
Termidor and Trelona ATBS may be combined and work excellently together, providing the best in termite protection.
Subterranean Termite Protection Plan with Warranty
Horn Pest Management will provide a thorough inspection and a detailed treatment plan for your property. Construction type, access, and environmental concerns will determine the treatment and costs associated with the property. A subterranean termite retreat warranty accompanies this termite protection plan. That means, should a re-infestation occur, a localized treatment will be provided at no additional charge. Plans with warranties may be renewed and extended on an annual basis. A complete and thorough inspection is also provided at the owner’s or agent’s request.
Protection Plan without Warranty
Horn Pest Management will provide a thorough inspection and detailed treatment plan for your property. Due to the nature of the structure, the targeted pest, or the customer’s instructions, there will be no warranty for this treatment type. In most cases, warranties are not offered because only a localized spot treatment is selected.
TERMITE PRE-TREAMENTS
Termite Pre-Treatments
An application of termicide is applied to the soil before concrete is poured. This treatment is always recommended during construction to prevent future termite infestations. Pretreatments cover the entire square footage and critical areas such as plumbing protusions and expansion joints. Most pretreatments come with a minimum 3-year warranty, and a perimeter treatment after construction is complete. This perimeter treatment is called “Final Grade.”
TERMITE INSPECTIONS
Real Estate Transactions Termite Inspection
Before a property is sold, inspecting for any signs of active termites and or damage caused by termite infestations is necessary. The inspection process typically involves checking for mud tubes constructed from soil and wood fragments used by termites to enter buildings and dwellings and examining wooden structures inside the home for any signs of damage caused by these pests.
Refinance Inspections
Before lenders approve refinancing, they often require an inspection of the premises. One of the most critical inspections is for termites. This inspection will include a comprehensive look at the entire structure to identify potential entry points where termites may be entering or nesting within the building and any areas that may need treatment, such as wood beams or joists.
VA Refinance Inspections
VA lenders require a termite inspection for any property refinanced through the Department of Veterans Affairs loan program. During a VA refinance termite inspection, we will inspect all exposed wood surfaces and areas around the foundation and inside areas where there may be hidden damage from pests.
“Peace of Mind” Inspections
We offer comprehensive inspections that check for the slightest signs of infestation and provide a detailed report on our findings. Our experienced team can identify any existing problems and potential areas of concern, ensuring no stone goes unturned in our efforts to protect your property.
