The National Pest Management Association has recently released their bi-annual Bug Barometer for the 2020-21 fall and winter seasons. The barometer is based on long term weather forecasts as well as pest biological behaviors. According to the report, ongoing warm, wet weather has allowed pest populations to spike early and thrive throughout the spring and summer. For the Southwestern region the NPMA has reported that cooler, wetter conditions throughout spring and summer expected to drive ants indoors. Expect an increase in cockroach and stinging insect populations throughout the region.
